At Murrell we believe that there is no stronger force for positive change than building positive relationships with students and the caregivers with whom they live. When families align with school staff, student needs are much more likely to be met.

Murrell does not currently have a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Because we draw students from across the entire district, our families are not in centralized locations. Transportation is often an issue for students’ families, and would affect the ability to organize and gain participation in such an organization.

In place of the PTO, Murrell has a Parent Involvement Committee made up of staff members. The committee works diligently to provide opportunities for family and parent participation at school. Often these events are funded through small grants, and Murrell staff donations and support.
